Pastoral Note – October 31, 2014

Dear Friends,

I am sitting near my front door, as I write this, waiting to pass out gummy and pretzel treats to our neighborhood kids. It’s a terrible night for trick-or-treaters. It’s dark and cold. You can’t even see their costumes because they are all bundled up in their coats. Oh, what we will endure for some sugary goodness!

I wanted to remind you that this Sunday is our All Saints Sunday Service. We will light a candle in memory of our loved ones who passed away in the past year. I hope you will join us in remembrance and through worship and by the presence of God gain renewed strength for the journey ahead.

Where there is death, there is also new life. We celebrate the birth of Conrad Paul Kriks, who was born October 23rd, weighing 8 lbs and measuring 21 1/2 inches long! All are healthy and well. Congratulations to Kim and Dane, the happy and grateful first-time parents! Stay tuned for information on Conrad’s baptism.
