This year’s Lenten Season got off to a good start with our Ash Wednesday gathering. Thank you all who brought delicious soups, salads, and other dishes to feed our hungry bodies. We also had a great turnout for the evening’s worship service. I’ve posted the message from that service online.
I hope you will continue to observe a holy Lent: by self-examination and repentance; by prayer, fasting, and self-denial; and by reading and meditating on God’s Holy Word.
What a beautiful celebration of the sacrament of baptism last Sunday!
Through his baptism, Hudson Kress gifted us with the reminder of God’s grace at work in our lives. Indeed, God claims Hudson, and God claims each of us and helps us, protects us, and loves us too.
The celebration continues this week as we formally welcome the Kriks Family to our church family. Dane and Kim will officially join our church and their son, Conrad, will be baptized this Sunday. Here is a brief introduction:
Dane, Kim, and Conrad Kriks live in New Lenox. They are originally from the west and north suburbs. Dane is a environmental consultant and Kim is a school social worker. During their spare time, they enjoy cooking, reading, going to the farmers market, and traveling.
I hope you will be there to celebrate and welcome them into our church.
Lastly, our Lenten Study will begin this Sunday during Adult Sunday School hour. You also have the option of doing the study on Wednesdays at 7pm at the Cramer’s. The cost of book is $10, and you can pick one up at church if you haven’t done so yet.
