On this upcoming Sunday and the following Sunday, we will be celebrating the baptisms of two of our newest additions. I don’t have to explain how significant the sacrament of baptism is in the life of the church. I hope you will join us to welcome and celebrate Hudson Kress on 2/15 and Conrad Kriks on 2/22. Not only are these occasions for blessing the respective families, but they are also opportunities for us to recall our own baptisms and to give thanks for God’s grace at work in our lives.
It’s hard to believe that next week we begin the season of Lent with Ash Wednesday. On Wednesday, 2/18, we will provide a light dinner of soup, salad, and bread starting at 6pm. We will serve until 6:30 for those who can’t be there at exactly 6. At 7, we will move into the sanctuary and begin our Ash Wednesday service which includes the imposition of ashes.
Lastly, I want to give you an update on the status of the search for a new Office Manager. The interest in the position has been overwhelming. In just a week’s time, we have received over 50 resumes and applications. The Staff Parish Relations Committee will meet next week to begin narrowing down the potential candidates. Please pray for Doug Newman, our SPRC Chair, as well as the rest of the committee as they discern the best candidate to take on the responsibility of this key position in our church.
